Restore Your Smile
With a Crown
or Bridge
Have you been considering restoring your smile with a crown or bridge?
If so, Gallery Park Family and Pediatric Dentistry is here for you. We will make sure you receive the best dental care and treatment throughout your dental procedure.

Have you ever broken or lost a tooth? If so, we know how stressful that situation can be.
Teeth can fracture due to trauma, decay, bruxism (grinding or clenching your teeth), or even simply biting into something hard. Sometimes the tooth can be fractured so severely that it can no longer be saved.
We understand that broken or missing teeth can affect your self-esteem and self-confidence. At Gallery Park Dental, we can restore your smile and self-confidence with the use of dental crowns and bridges in Glenview, IL.
A dental crown, also known as a "cap," is used to restore a tooth to its natural size and shape. A crown acts as a shell and covers your natural tooth to protect it from fracturing or prevent a cracked tooth from further damage.
A crown is often necessary when a tooth has been damaged so significantly that it can no longer be restored with a filling.
Crowns are also recommended after a tooth has had a root canal to prevent it from fracturing in the future. Crowns are made of either gold, porcelain ceramic, or porcelain ceramic with a metal substructure underneath.
Dr. Rogers and Gripentrog use the most modern, advanced materials to create crowns to match the rest of your natural teeth perfectly.
A dental bridge is a fixed appliance that is used to replace one or more missing teeth. A traditional bridge replaces missing teeth by attaching natural-looking false teeth to crowns seated on top of adjacent teeth or implants.
Unlike dentures or partial dentures, bridges are permanently cemented in the mouth and can only be removed by your dentist.
Missing teeth can often cause problems with chewing or speaking, not to mention be esthetically unpleasing. Additionally, if missing teeth are not immediately replaced, adjacent teeth may begin to shift into the open space, which can be difficult to correct in the future.
Dental bridges are an excellent way to replace missing teeth and restore beautiful smiles.
FAQs About Crowns
At Gallery Park Dental, we'll make an impression of your tooth and send it to a lab so a crown that fits your tooth correctly can be made. You'll receive a temporary crown while the permanent one is being made. When your permanent crown is ready, we will cement it to your tooth.
Yes! Our goal at Gallery Park Dental is for your crown to look just like your natural teeth. To accomplish this, we consider the color, bite, shape, and length of your natural teeth. All of these factors can affect the appearance of the crown and the tooth.
Once the procedure is complete, your teeth will be both stronger and more attractive.
Your dentist needs to remove more of your natural tooth in order to place your new crown appliance. Porcelain veneers will only cover some of the visible part of your teeth, whereas crowns take up more total space.
Our Glenview dentists like to use crowns for significantly damaged teeth, however, your Gallery Park Dental dental team can place a crown on any tooth, even if you have a permanent implant.
Cleaning between your teeth is especially important when you have a crown. Plaque around your gum line can cause decay at the base of your crown, so it's important to floss carefully.
Remember - don't chew on hard foods, ice, or other hard objects to avoid damaging your crown. Tooth grinding will also damage the material the crown is made up of as well.
FAQs About Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is a way for Dr. Rogers and Dr. Gripentrog to replace a missing tooth. At Gallery Park Dental you can get this appliance if you want to replace one or more teeth but don't want to wear dentures or commit to surgery for permanent dental implants.
Your new tooth is held in place by two crowns. It looks natural and consists of a ceramic or porcelain material to match the surrounding teeth.
Are you missing teeth? Can you keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy with regular brushing and flossing? Dental bridges from Gallery Park Dental give you a wonderful way to replace your missing teeth and restore a healthy and proud smile.
Missing teeth can often cause problems with chewing or speaking, and they also don't look very good to other people. If you don't immediately replace missing teeth, the teeth around the open space tend to shift toward it.
Bridges correct your bite, which improves your chewing and speech. It also improves your cosmetic appearance by keeping your facial features from collapsing and making you look old ahead of your time.
For a traditional fixed bridge, you'll come to two different appointments, and there are a few steps:
1. First, Dr. Rogers or Dr. Gripentrog takes specific notes about the size, shape, and color of your teeth. You'll also let us take impressions of the teeth all around the area with the missing tooth.
2. Then, our Gallery Park Dental team sends your information to a licensed dental ceramist at a special lab. There, a dental ceramist makes a high-quality replacement tooth for you.
3. After we receive your bridges from the lab, you'll come back to our Glenview dentist's office. Then, Dr. Rogers or Dr. Gripentrog will place your permanent dental bridge on the two teeth surrounding the missing tooth.
A dental bridge helps you eat normally and talk without feeling self-conscious or worrying about your new tooth becoming loose or falling out. A bridge can be a great fit if you have an active lifestyle around Glenview and you don't want your teeth to control your life.
Find out if a dental bridge is right for you by scheduling an appointment at Gallery Park Dental.
