Invisalign®
Clear Braces
in Glenview
Invisalign® treatment with the dentists at Gallery Park Family and Pediatric Dentistry can give you beautiful, straight teeth without traditional braces.
Having crooked, misaligned, or improperly spaced teeth can make a person feel self-conscious about their smile, but many people don't realize that an improperly aligned bite can lead to other oral health problems as well. Leaving an abnormal bite untreated can lead to tooth decay, gum disease, tooth loss, abnormal wear on enamel, and jaw problems.
Many adults are reluctant to seek orthodontic treatment for many reasons. Traditional metal braces are considered unattractive and embarrassing as well as being difficult to clean. They require changes to a patient's diet and eating habits to accommodate the metal brackets and wires. Traditional braces are also a significant time investment, requiring frequent visits to the orthodontist for adjustments, which can be uncomfortable.
At Gallery Park Dental, our Glenview dental office, we understand our patients' concerns, and we want to offer a solution that allows patients to get needed treatment for a range of bite issues without all the trouble and sacrifice needed for traditional braces. That's why we are both certified Invisalign treatment providers.
Invisalign is a system that replaces the uncomfortable brackets and wires used in metal braces with a series of clear BPA-free plastic trays. These trays are custom-crafted to fit each patient's bite and gently straighten crooked or misaligned teeth. Invisalign can be used to treat overcrowding, underbites, overbites, gapped teeth, and other dental alignment problems. We are happy to evaluate patients on a case-by-case basis to determine if Invisalign is the right option for them.
Invisalign replaces the frequent orthodontist visits by providing Glenview patients with multiple sets of aligner trays at each visit. Every two weeks, a new set of aligner trays is used, each with small adjustments to a patient's bite.
This allows our Glenview patients to keep follow-up visits to our office approximately every six weeks, saving time and hassle. At your initial consultation with Gallery Park Dental, we'll take digital scans and X-rays to create a 3D image of your mouth. We use these images to make your first set of custom-fitted aligners and then you begin the process of straightening your teeth.
To begin Invisalign treatment, we take digital photos, X-rays, and impressions of the patient's mouth. This information is used to create a 3D model, which is then used in combination with our custom treatment plan to craft the personalized aligner trays. At each visit, we will provide approximately three new sets of aligner trays, depending on each patient's individual treatment needs.
A follow-up visit is necessary approximately every six weeks, in most cases. During this appointment, we check the treatment progress to ensure patients stay on track. We also provide the next series of aligners. Wearing the aligner trays for 20 to 22 hours per day provides the best results, and the trays are removed during meals and while brushing.
At Gallery Park Dental, you’ll achieve a great smile without a treatment that gets in the way of your daily life. The best part about the whole process…most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth!
With Invisalign treatment at Gallery Park Dental, there are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners about every two weeks until your treatment is complete.
Invisalign's treatment system offers many advantages over traditional braces, including:
- Clear plastic trays are virtually invisible – no unsightly brackets and wires.
- Aligner trays are easily removed during meals, eliminating the need for diet modifications.
- Invisalign gently and gradually adjusts teeth, causing less pain and discomfort than traditional braces.
- Adjustments during the treatment process are done by replacing the aligner trays every few weeks, leading to fewer follow-up visits.
We believe that Invisalign can be an ideal way to treat alignment issues for our patients, and we are happy to provide additional information and answer questions at our Glenview dental office.
Gallery Park Dental is a certified Invisalign provider and we have years of experience treating patients with Invisalign, and we’re excited to offer this technology to our Glenview dental patients.
